Privacy Policy
Draft — last updated 2026
This is a draft. Especially the sections on data sharing, retention, and any state-specific privacy law compliance (CCPA, etc.) applicable to where you operate must be reviewed by an attorney before publishing.
1. What We Collect
From Customers
- account info (name, email, phone);
- vehicle info (year, make, model, VIN, mileage, service history);
- location (service address, general location for provider matching);
- payment info (processed via Stripe — Motive does not store full card numbers);
- communications (messages sent through the app to Providers, chat history with Ally).
From Providers
- business info (name, owner, phone, email, service categories, coverage area);
- verification documents (insurance certificate, license, portfolio if submitted);
- location (business/shop address or coverage area);
- payment info (processed via Stripe for payouts and Success Fees);
- performance data (job completion history, ratings, response times used to calculate Pro.Ven score).
2. How We Use It
- To match Customers with relevant Providers and operate the marketplace;
- To calculate Pro.Ven trust scores from verified activity;
- To process payments via Stripe;
- To send service-related notifications;
- To improve the platform and Ally's recommendations.
[Placeholder: marketing communications opt-in/out details.]
3. What We Share, and When
Customer/Provider identity is withheld from each other until both sides have committed to a booking; after that point, contact details needed to complete the job are shared between the two parties. Payment processing is shared with Stripe, subject to Stripe's own privacy policy. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
[Placeholder: list other subprocessors — hosting (Supabase/Lovable), email delivery, AI model provider (Anthropic) for Ally conversations.]
4. AI Assistant (Ally)
Conversations with Ally may be processed by a third-party AI provider to generate responses and recommendations. [Placeholder: confirm data retention/training policy with AI provider and disclose here.]
5. Data Retention
[Placeholder: how long data is kept after account closure, job completion, etc.]
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. [Placeholder: specific rights under applicable law — CCPA/CPRA if California users — and process to exercise them.]
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Motive is not intended for use by anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
[Placeholder: notice method for material changes.]
10. Contact
